About

Project HnB is a social initiative that aims to tackle social isolation amongst the elderly in Singapore.

Started in 2019 by a group of 5 students from RJC, this project has been 3 years in the making with more than 100 elderly and volunteers that have participated in it.

Our distinctiveness lies in the implementation of the dual engagement system within a befriending setting. In contrast to the typical student-initiated interaction, the elderly would be encouraged to share more about themselves and engaged to teach students certain skill sets which they are passionate about.

Volunteers can look forward to customizing their individualized set of activities for the specific elderly which they will befriend over the course of several sessions.

We believe in 2 vital thrusts: consistency & empowerment

Our Mission

Our Mission

Much like how honey complements a slice of bread with wonderful aromaticity, we hope that volunteers of the project will be "honey buddies" who enrich the lives of the elderly through interaction and bonding activities, as they take ownership to forge a close tie of friendship and empower the elderly to age actively in their golden years.
